The world of Disney collectibles encompasses millions of products associated with Walt Disney’s film studio and production company.

Often called Disneyana, these items are typically related to films made by Disney, the Disneyland and Disney World theme parks, or the company’s international network of Mickey Mouse Clubs.

The stereographs begin with 'The Bashful Lover makes his Call' and end with a friend of the now happily married couple receiving exciting news of their first child. In the 1800s, courtship was considered more a career move than a romantic interlude for young men, as all of a woman's property reverted to him upon marriage.

Therefore courting was taken very seriously - by both sides.

I recently found some at the World of Disney in Downtown Disney Marketplace in Florida, and on Main Street U. They look like they have been sold in the shop for decades (I love that kind of detail on merchandise!

This card, 0100-12406, shows an image of Fort Wilderness looking toward the Contemporary Resort and Space Mountain at the Magic Kingdom.

It’s 4X6 and it’s original owner only saw fit to write “Florida” on the back!

I’m drawn to postcards mostly because they remind me of a time before all-things digital (there was a time when I actually used to print photographs).

I like how the images, along with the occasional handwritten greetings, capture fun moments and memories in time.
